On November 1st, The Allure Group wrapped up their first annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising efforts in grand fashion. Held at their Hamilton Park location in Dyker Heights, The Allure Group welcomed members of The American Cancer Society as they presented a check of the proceeds from their month-long fundraising efforts.
The Allure Group held facility-wide raffles with generous vendors such as H&R Healthcare, Platinum Care, Pinnacle, Specialty Rx, Towne Nursing, Fiveboro Printing, Wound Healing Technologies, Five Star Staffing, CCI Systems and Williamsburg Medical Imaging. Together they donated some wonderful gifts, with each home offering the same set of prizes including a flatscreen television, iPad, Vidonn smartband, and numerous gift cards.
There was some healthy competition as well! The facility that raised the most funds would receive a special recognition from COO Melissa Powell as well as The Allure Group’s owners. That facility was Linden Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, led by Administrator Nelissa Garces and her team.
In addition to their successful fundraising efforts, The Allure Group was proud to have dozens of employees participate in the annual Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk on 10/15, under the #TeamAllure banner.
“October was a special month here at Allure. Everyone from ownership to our residents’ families really got behind the initiative and came together for a great cause. We hope to outdo ourselves next year” said Matthew Fenley, Chief Marketing Officer for The Allure Group.
Breast cancer is a disease that affects about 1 in 8 U.S. women over the course of her lifetime. In 2017, an estimated 252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in American women. We hope that increased awareness and funding will help women suffering from this cancer and improve our ability to screen, diagnose and treat it.
